Since I've been going to WMAD, I have been able to effectively grow our networking base with new clients and other businesses. Since we are PDA Partners, LLC, Partners are crucial to our success and growth. We have been able to add new services, while continuing to support local businesses. I have made several new friends, have found an AMAZING doctor who was able to completely heal my back, and have learnded about so many other businesses that are here, in Albuquerque. Women Make a Difference has enhanced my life in many ways. In addition to the lovely luncheons and inspiring speakers, and the opportunity to give back by being a speaker, I have met many wonderful women who have become clients and/or friends. Here’s an example: I met Jeanneth Lopez on the WMAD LinkedIn group site before we ever met in person. At the time I was preparing for a talk I now give annually at the New Mexico Cancer Center called “Organizing to De-Stress a Major Illness”. When I saw that her company, Rio Rancho Cleaning Service, was a member of the Cleaning for a Reason organization -- volunteering time to clean the homes of cancer patients -- I thought I should get to know her. I hired her once to see whether or not I could recommend her services, and have been a regular customer ever since! She, in turn has hired me to help her organize her home and office. My company, Organized For Life, is a proud sponsor of her upcoming Pink Ribbon Mixer event, and she is now using my Clutter Flow Charts, which are customized with both of our logos and contact info, to help her cleaning customers de-clutter and attract more business for both of us.

When I moved to Albuquerque four years ago, Women Make a Difference was one of the first professional women's networking lunches I attended. At the time, I was looking for a job. What I found were women who welcomed me into their community - women filled with good advice and suggestions of other people to meet or companies to approach. Over the years, these same women no longer greeted me with a handshake, now it's a hug. They know my story and I know theirs. And, when I decided to start my own sole proprietorship in January, there were encouraging words, referrals, and new business connections. And, a couple more friends. I am grateful to these women and to Val Romero for having created an environment in which we can not only learn each other's stories, but grow as people.
